These are the days for prunning at Buoi Park.
Prunning is a serious and not simple thing to do, in short one can’t pretend to know what they are doing. The suckers that grow on the inside of the tree are pulled out and then the new branches that grow the following year are picked. It’s the branches that are two years old which produce olives.
The techniques of prunning are quite diverse but all have the aim to favour the production and in some way make the harvest easier to do.
The …

We are still talking about names…this time though we have invented the story ourselves. Even if we are always talking about popular wisdom this story rings decisively more matter of fact. This story is about how the name of a wine is born.
The drunken wife is the name that we wanted to give to our Chiaretto, and it is a name that was born partly as a joke and partly pride in response to many circumstances ( and maybe today not as often as before)- to hear one speak about …

Hello, I am Carla Latini. Since 1990 in Osimo, in Marche and Umbria, my husband Carlo and I sow and harvest the varieties of wheat and spelt we use to make our lines of pasta.
In 1992, the recovery of the famous historic wheat kind Senatore Cappelli enabled us to produce the first pasta “in purezza” (purity) in the world (that’s how we called it); spaghetti and spaghettini made with only the Senatore Cappelli wheat. High spikes from large black mustaches and an intense, almost spicy, flavour. Then we started taking care of the kind of hard wheat Taganrog. …

The Minister of Agriculture Luca Zaia and Roberto Masi, CEO McDonald’s Italia enjoy (apparently) their McItaly

In late January, McDonald’s Italy introduced in its menu the McItaly, the new sandwich “invented” (as he himself likes to say) by the Italian minister of Agriculture Luca Zaia.

This marriage between the made-in-Italy and McDonald’s, as enthusiastically claimed by Zaia, will bring a bright future for the Italian farmers, who are called to participate in the “good” globalization “good” thanks to the (very) globalized McDonald’s.

The case hit the headlines when Matthew Fort, restaurant critic …

This is more or less what I’m telling when I introduce myself.

So, my little farm is in Abruzzo and thus it produces Trebbiano and Montepulciano wines.

I do not pick the Trebbiano grapes, no matter what (including the snow), until they reach at least 20° of sugar. Therefore sometimes it is a little overripe (not passito, but just a little ahead with aging).

The vinification changes depending if I decide (or better, if the grapes are up to) to do the maceration (the Lama Bianca wine) or not, but I do not …

An old farm. A true one!
It’s the slogan of Parco dei Buoi farm.
We are in the countryside of Larino in Molise and now, we also cultivate the parcel 2.0 of ANP (Agrycultural Net Particel). Agricultural plots Network).

In Parco dei buoi we’ve got a lot of things to do:

we breed sheep and make cheese and ricotta from their milk and get lambs as well.

From the big chills that this winter is reserving us on Lake Garda, we of the Basia begin the adventure of Agrycult.
This beginning of the year snow appeared more than once, cover with its soft mantle our hills.
And as Nature is preparing to run over with his buds the spring to come, we, likewise, here under the snow, brood and cultivate new projects and new hopes. Like this one of Agrycult, which starts alongside friends with whom, for some time now, we share dreams and experiences, as well
sincere …

My name is Carlo Zaccaria.
I was born in Biella on  December 16th 1973. From then on I’ve been living in Salussola, a small town located in a particular territory extremely suited for rice, called the Baraggia. I’ve been living ever since in a farmhouse in the midst of our rice fields in a landscape that, in certain times of the year, takes  very suggestive appearances. I studied many years, graduated in Biological Sciences, but rice marked my entire working life. My family has always been committed to agriculture. Since I was a child I have taken the first steps as a farmer  on the …
